DIY MATTE LIPSTICK
It's no secret that I am a massive lipstick addict. I can be very fussy when it comes to shades of colours, if a nude is slightly orange or a purple is slightly pink. These are two things that would prevent me from making that purchase.
This idea came about 2 weeks ago. I couldn't wear eye makeup for a few days, so I done the best I could without it looking a bit odd. I realised I didn't own a nude suited exactly to my lip colour, as I wanted to wear lipstick, but not have it so obvious.
This is is the first result I had making my own liquid to matte lipstick.

WHAT YOU NEED
STEP 1
STEP 2
This step takes some trial and error. You need to get the consistency right, and also the shade may be hard to get correct. As I used foundation in Porcelain, the shade was always going to come out lighter than the actual pigment. If you're a liquid to matte lipstick wearer, you will know the consistency of them, just keep adding foundation/pigment until you get this right and the shade you want.
STEP 3
I found this part hard to start with, until I found the best way to funnel it through. As the consistency is more moussey, it didn't flow through straight away. In the end I used a thin nail file to encourage the formula down easier. You can use which ever way is best for you. Another option is to buy empty syringes and use that to get the formula in the tube.
FINISHED RESULT
I'm still so impressed with myself that I've managed to create my own liquid to matte lipsticks. I can now have literally any colour on my lips that I want. This is perfect for when I create makeup looks and I don't own the right colour lipstick. Whether I'm going out, toning down my makeup, or creating a look for Instagram - where I may never use the colour lipstick again but it's not much out of my pocket! I managed to create 4 10ml lipsticks out of the 35ml. But it would of been 5 if I didn't create the tester one first and didn't waste some during the process.
Here are the other colours I made and their swatches.
What do you think? Would you give this a try? I'm intrigued to know what colours you would make!
