DEVIL & DOLL

Happy Halloween week!

If you know me, you will know I have been very excited for Halloween this year. It is the first Halloween that I have had my blog, so I can share lots of weird and wonderful looks with you all! 7 Days of Halloween will include a blog post a day, from today until Halloween! I have, and will continue to, put a lot of effort into these looks and ideas.
I just want to give a quick shout out to all my amazing friends and family who have helped me with putting this together - whether it be letting me loose on your faces, helping me with ideas or simply reviewing my looks for me!

BASE

I used the same base foundation/concealer routine for both of these looks as I wanted a similar effect for both.
For the base I used the following products, in this order:
At this point, I mixed some Poundland (yes - Poundland!) Halloween white face cream in with my Revlon foundation and applied, to make me somewhat more paler than usual. For me, it doesn't work awfully well as I am already so pale - however, if you have trouble getting white face cream to stay on your skin this little trick is brilliant. I finished with a buffing of Technic Transparent Loose Powder.

DEVIL MAKE-UP

I decided to start off simply with my Devil look. Although it does look very striking and dark, all I in fact did was take my normal makeup routine and spice it up a little. Don't worry, I don't sport them devil eyebrows daily. The main aspect of this look is the harsh contouring. Morphe Brushes 35OM palette for the contouring. I wanted a red feel to the whole look, so I thought the oranges and reds in this palette were perfect. I used a simple angled contouring brush and started out with some light oranges to start building up. The deeper the colour, the smaller brush I used to get a sharp contour. I used the Spectrum A12 Fluffy Pencil Brush to bring the contouring down further to a sharp point. I also used a white eyeshadow to carve it out further.

I will admit, I spent an awful long time on these brows and I don't think I will ever be prouder of any other brow I will do. I used NYX Soft Matte lip cream in Copenhagen with my normal brow brush, Technic Slanted Brush. I done a simple smokey eye, as I would normally wear, I used my LaRoc Eyeshadow Palette for this. I will never get over the pigment in these eyeshadows, the red on my lid is amazing! I smoked a dark red under my eyes and added some of my favourite cheap lashes and Maybelline Push Up Drama Mascara on my bottom lashes. To finish, I contoured from my inner eyes and down my nose in a dark grey and some red shades. I added my favourite red wig, some horns and Makeup Revolution Velvet Lacquer Keep Trying For You.
I am definitely so in love with this look, I didn't want to take it off!

DOLL MAKE-UP

Now, I'm not the bravest of people. I have already pushed myself and my fears so far by doing a doll look. I am terrified of them, in all honesty. But, I dedicated myself and I'm going to carry on facing a few of my fears this week. And right now, at this very minute. Writing in the dark, looking at myself as a doll staring back at me. Why did I think this was a good idea??

Anyway, I based this doll look on Annabelle. She had got to be the most terrifying doll I've ever seen. So that's why I chose her - even though I knew I could never do her justice.
I started off with the same base as my devil look. I did some light contouring at the sides, but the main focus on a dolls face is definitely the blushing cheeks. I started with my Spectrum A12 Fluffy Pencil Brush and using a light grey toned eyeshadow from my 35OM palette again, I started the base of carving out them awful, awful smile lines. As I have a chubby face anyway, this was easily done by using my natural smile lines as a guide. I slowly deepened the lines by using Spectrums A15 Lip Liner Brush. Then, finished by using any and every blending brush I had. I used contouring to round my nose out and make it a bit more 'button-like'. Rather than the sharp nose I contoured for my devil. I decided to build up my blush from an orange shade to avoid a pink shade, I felt this was better for the look. Then I added the freckled on top. The freckles are actually a new liquid lipstick I've recently got (and loving!). The next step was the brows. Wow, were these a task. My brow hairs naturally stick up and sort of out, so absolutely nothing keeps them stuck down like I would of liked them to. But I think this turned out ok. My brows are naturally very light so I used foundation and concealer mixed with white face cream, and drew in the pencil thin brows with my favourite liquid liner from Poundland! My eyes are a simple black smoked eye on the top, and minimal on the bottom.
I layered two sets of lashes, Ardell Lashes Demi Wispies and - some cheap and cheerful ones - Asda's own brand in Darling. For the bottom lashes I used Revlon A04 and added some smaller lashes with liquid liner to blend it into the fake bottom line I created. I used Jelly Pong Pongs Lighten Up highlighting liner for my waterline and under eye.To create the lip, I drew out the shape I wanted in Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lipliner in Indian Pink, and added Makeup Revolutions Velvet Lacquer Keep Trying For You on the top. And that's it!

What do you think of these looks? What are you up to for Halloween? And let me know what you are going as!
