BARGAIN MATTE LIPSTICKS

For anyone who knows me, you will know how much I love my lipsticks. More importantly, my purples and reds. Therefore, I do apologise for the lack of variation of the colours for these swatches. I have been trying out nudes more often, as pinks are not me, therefore there is a very new purchase in this list of my favourite Bargain Liquid to Matte Lipsticks. The reason I have chosen to do bargain lipsticks is I generally don't spend an awful lot on one lipstick, I have found bargain ones to be brilliant, and there is still a massive variation of colours to choose from. So, I don't feel the need to spend an obscene amount for a label.

MENOW LONG LASTING

This is my go to purple lipstick for any time. It can be found all over the place, for example here(prices and the brand name does vary). I first bought this on Wish, of course quite dubious so I ordered just the one. Many months on, I now have roughly 20 different shades.
The formula is very smooth which makes it so easy to apply, and the wand is nice and small so you can really get a great outline without using a liner. I also really like the smell of it, weirdly. It is most definitely the longest lasting lipstick I own so it can be quite tricky to remove, but any sort of oil or oil based cleanser does the trick.

This shade is number 22.

MUA LUXE VELVET LIP LACQUER

This range from MUA definitely has the widest collection of colours. There is a colour for everybody. Whether you like bright, bold colours, nudes, or muted colours. You can see the range for yourself here. I am looking to purchase some more colours, but this colour I swatched for you is my favourite kind of purple (berry purple), so I have stuck with this one for a while.

I feel this one is a bit more matte than the previous one, but it is drier and the formula is not as smooth. These problems are easily avoided with good lip care and using a liner to create your desired outline. Although these are smudge proof and long lasting, they are still easy to remove with any cleanser.

This shade is Kooky.

RIMMEL PROVOCALIPS 16HR KISSPROOF

This was the product that made me fall in love with liquid to matte lipsticks. This lipstick works in two steps. First, apply the colour and leave to set for 60 seconds. Then, apply the clear topcoat on the other end of the lipstick to lock in the colour and keep your lips moisturised. I do prefer deeper reds, but this one is an exception. I like the colours in this collection, seen here, but I am disappointed there isn't a huge difference in the colours. I only own two lipsticks from this collection. The majority are purpley pinks, pinky purples, or pinks. Many that I wouldn't wear, and the two nude shades don't look all that great in person. But for what the collection as a whole lacks in, the products themselves make up for.

The texture is smooth, and is the most liquidy one out of these lipsticks, so it doesn't feel like I'm using as much product as the other lipsticks. The colour pay off is also excellent, I only need one layer. When I wear this lipstick, it would last longer if I used the topcoat, but it does decrease the matte effect, which is what I personally like. Just using the colour on its own has been more than good enough for me - the staying power, the moisture and the application.

This shade is 500 Kiss Me You Fool.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION SALVATION VELVET LACQUER

With Makeup Revolution being one of my favourite brands, I, yet again, was not disappointed by their liquid to matte velvet lacquer. I find the shades very similar to the Rimmel Provocalips, see colours here, however, I find these shades to have more of a difference to each other. I own three shades, Keep Trying For You, Rebel, and Vamp. Unfortunately, I find that Vamp is much more drying than the other shades, after waiting so long to find it in shops! It's still a favourite colour of mine and I do use it for makeup photos etc.

The texture of this lipstick and MUAs Luxe are very similar, but MURs one is much more matte and a lot easier to apply. The bristles on this wand are shorter so it's a more precise application for the outline. I have had a lot of practice with applying liquid to matte lipsticks, and getting the outline I like and getting it precise, and I think this one is great for anyone to practice with if you haven't quite got the hang of it.

This shade is Keep Trying For You.

SLEEK MATTE ME

I have heard so many good things about this lipstick. This shade in particular, Birthday Suit. So, as I am trying more nude colours out, I thought this one looked perfect for me and bought it just a few weeks ago. I did look at the other shades, but I felt that they weren't quite right for me, they do still look pretty though, see the other colours here.

My first thought when opening the tube is the weird brush. It's flat both sides and I've never used any lip product with a brush like that, so I am still getting used to using it hence my lip outline not being great in this photo. The very first time I applied it, I fell in love. The colour is so understated, but not at the same time. It doesn't stand out against my other colours but it is absolutely gorgeous. I think the tiny hint of brown is what makes it. It is a nude, but it's a different sort of nude. To me, anyway. Even though I am still having trouble getting to grips with the brush, the formula has been no issue, it's really soft, almost mousse like and reminds me of NYX's soft matte creams. I have done the ultimate test and worn it on a night out, and it lasted throughout the whole night, I didn't need to touch up at all.
