PURPLES & GREEN MAKEUP LOOK
This post will feature a few of my essentials in my makeup collection, and a few new products that I have never used before. For my first makeup look blog post I wanted to make an impact. I love using colours when I create my looks, on my eyes and my lips. I have recently bought a load more Makeup Revolution lipsticks which I've only tried out one of them, which was a pink on a day time look. So, I went with a more dramatic colour! I will also talk about one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes at this moment, which isn't very well known, but after seeing the colours it produces (and the price!), you will all go and purchase it!
PRODUCTS USED
FACE
My usual primer is Men's Nivea Post Shave Balm, which is just..amazing. As a primer and a moisturiser. I leave that for five minutes to soak in and activate before I start on my makeup. I use a light base coat of Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory, using a beauty blender. I have lots of redness and blemishes that shows through when I wear just concealer/foundation, I find this base coat helps reduce this. I always let wet products dry on my face completely before applying the next wet product. After the CC cream, I used Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair 1. This is one of my two favourite concealers (Dior Perfecting Hydrating Concealer being joint first), it has such brilliant coverage and doesn't budge at all. Its the best shade I've found for the triangle under my eyes. I then used my favourite foundation at the moment, Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Light Porcelain. Again, this is such a great shade for me, I have always found it hard to find shades that match. Many foundations look way too yellow on me. I haven't had much trouble with porcelain shades, though. For me, this has such great coverage, and smells like an absolute dream! I use a foundation brush to pat it all over, then go in with a beauty blender to ensure it's blended out evenly and there are no brush strokes. I finish with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Peach Glow, which I have been using for years, it is definitely a product I cannot go without. It gives such a flawless and matte finish. I love it!
For contouring, I use a mixture of products depending on what look I want to achieve. I decided to try a new powder I bought. I found that Collection Bronze Glow Matte in Terracotta looked slightly odd on my complexion, it was maybe a bit too pinky for me. It is a good product, but maybe in a different shade for myself. This year, my go to powder for contour has been Makeup Revolution Duo Face Sculpt, which is so easy to apply and blend out, I find it really easy to control the amount of contour I wish to have, so I can use this in every day makeup lightly, and with going out makeup for a deeper contour. To finish off my face, I used Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate Highlighter, which has also been my highlighter of this year. It's definitely a brilliant highlighter, I use it for the tops of my cheekbones and underneath my eyebrows. It's such a shame my photos don't do it justice. But for the price, it's worth taking my word for it! My natural brows are very light and get lighter towards the middle, (yes it does look like I have half eyebrows) so I use Poundland's own makeup brand eyebrow pencil to line the shape out that I want around my brows, (see my review for their makeup here!) then I use MUA Pro-Brow Kit in Light-Medium to fill them in. I don't necessarily go crazy on brow products, because I'm happy just using an eyeshadow and a bit of clear brow gel.

EYES
I very rarely use primers etc for my eyes, the Nivea's Post Shave Balm, my CC cream and my concealer are all a primer when used together, and works great. I never have fallout or smudging during the time I wear eye makeup (aside from when I've had a drink - completely don't care and rub my eyes). I dust a quick sweep of my Rimmel powder, and I go straight onto my eyeshadows! For this look, I used LaRoc Eyeshadow Palette
. This is my favourite palette at the moment. I was sceptical at first, because I had never heard of the brand, and because of the price, but I thought I'd take a chance. And it was probably the best chance I've ever taken with a product. You can see for yourself how amazing the colours come out. There's also no fallout, and the shadows are so easy to blend. As with cheaper makeup, you need to layer to get a good coverage with colour, it is definitely not like that with these. Seriously, try it! I used two different purples for the crease and above, and blended. I used a small thin brush to draw a black shadow line over my crease, and blended upwards to create a cut crease. This takes some practice, and some arm power to blend! The next step was to use a regular glitter adhesive all over my lid, and using a stiff brush, gently pat Barry M Glitter Dust in Silver over the top. I used two greens from my LaRoc palette blended together to create the green for under my eye, I blended this down a bit further than normal to create a more dramatic effect. I am the same with pencil liners as I am with brow products. However, I was really impressed with the pigment and staying power of Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner Crayon that I got from my April's Birchbox. Possibly a new favourite liner! I then used Poundland's own makeup brand of liquid liner (again, see my review for their makeup here!). A mascara that I have been loving recently is Maybellines Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara. I really like the effect it can have. However, I can't achieve the same effects by applying just this and by using eyelash curlers before. I think it may just be my strange top eyelashes, but sometimes it does get a bit clumpy and I have to use a thinner mascara brush to separate them. It does do a really good job on my lower lashes though. The falsh lashes I'm wearing for this look is actually Asda's own brand, Eyelene Lashstudio in Heart Breaker. I picked them up weeks ago on a whim when I realised I had forgotten to bring my false lashes makeup bag, and then forgot to use them (typical me) so because this look is very dramatic, I wanted lashes that didn't overpower the eyeshadow. I think they're brilliant and look great, but other's may find them a bit too plastic looking and stiff. But they're definitely good for the price and to pick up last minute.
LIPS
This is one of the recent Makeup Revolution lipsticks I have purchased - from the Unicorns Unite Collection in Magical. I absolutely love all Makeup Revolutions lipsticks, this one is no exceptional. The whole Unicorns Unite collection is brilliant. They may not be colours a lot of people would wear, but I certainly would and I love I can get colours like this so cheap! I did find this particular one, I'm not sure if it's just this shade, but it was a bit patchy, so I simply prepped my lips with concealer and patted the lipsticks on with my ring finger until it was at the opaqueness I wanted, then lightly topped with an eyeshadow in the same colour. It worked like a dream!
